The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) has issued a statement alleging that one of its members, identified as Myanphua Hakhun alias Nyamehya, son of Wangbo Hakhun from Dadam Village, Tirap, was “prima facie found guilty of conniving with Indian security forces” in connection with an incident on October 20, 2025.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) of the NSCN/GPRN, the incident involved the arrest of its cadres “at Chozuba Area” and the seizure of “five assault rifles and one pistol (Glock 19) along with ammunitions.”

The political group stated that a “lookout notice was issued to all Military commands and Regions for his immediate arrest,” and added that “before the court martial proceedings could be initiated against him for treason which would have invited the death penalty, Myanphua Hakhun approached the Khonsa police station for safety on 26/10/2025 wherein the security forces stage-managed his fake surrender.”

In the statement, the NSCN/GPRN warned that “individuals in the payroll of their Indian paymasters acting as informers are fore-warned of dire consequences.”

Reiterating its position, the group asserted that it “shall leave no stone unturned to bring to book the culprits of high crimes such as treason.”
