The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) celebrated the 78th Naga Independence Day on the premises of the CFSB Office in Padumpukhuri, Dimapur. Mhonbemo Tsanglao, Kilo Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN, graced the occasion as the chief guest and unfurled the Naga national flag.
In his address, Mhonbemo made a clarion call, stating that the Naga people must unite to achieve their dreams, aspirations, and the right to self-determination.

Reflecting on the history of the Naga political movement, the chief guest noted that despite the intolerable hardships and sufferings, their forefathers never backed down but stood firm with bravery and courage to fight for what rightfully belongs to the Nagas—their inherent rights to live as a free people and a free nation.

He highlighted that despite the inhuman atrocities committed against the innocent Naga people by outside forces and the division of their land into different boundaries without consulting its bona fide inhabitants, the Naga forefathers were able to withstand all hurdles. They continued to fight against their oppressors because there was unity and trust among them, as well as the will to claim what belonged to the Naga people.

He expressed regret that the present Naga society has failed to emulate and follow in the footsteps of their forefathers. Disunity and mistrust, nurtured by external forces, have crept into society, fragmenting it. He added that division and blame games have become the norm.

He called upon all sections of Naga society to abandon blame and mistrust before it is too late and to come together once again as one people, united in trust, to carry forward the quest for the Naga cause.
A one-minute silent prayer was observed in honor and memory of the martyrs.
