The GPRN/NSCN-Kitovi Zhimomi group has condemned the recent incident in Pungro Town, where two of its cadres were allegedly brutally assaulted at gunpoint by NSCN-IM cadres.
According to a statement issued by the MIP of GPRN/NSCN-Kitovi Zhimomi group, the Pungro Town Commander, Mr. Gurung (Captain) of NSCN-IM, lured the victims—Major Sangti and Leacy Ati—to the Metumnyo festival with the intention of assaulting them.
“They were severely manhandled and beaten nearly to death at gunpoint in their private residence from 8:00 PM on 08/08/24 until 2:30 AM on 09/08/24,” the release stated.
The GPRN/NSCN vehemently condemned the brutal act and warned all responsible citizens to refrain from such evils, stating, “Society endeavors to live in peace and harmony.”
