Kohima, 5 July (MTNews): The Yung Aung faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K(YA)) has directed the recently formed NSCN/GPRN led by Ang Mai to disband and surrender, dismissing their claims of forming a new faction. The NSCN-KYA, in a statement, labeled the expelled members, Ang Mai and Langnyei, as proxies of Indian intelligence, accusing them of attempting to counter the NSCN/GPRN.
Expressing disappointment in the expelled members’ decision to resort to violence despite repeated appeals from the public, the NSCN-K(YA) urged them to abandon their selfish ambitions and cease deceiving the innocent public. The outfit emphasized that the alleged faction’s claims of following in the footsteps of the late Chairman SS Khaplang were baseless and deceitful.
“The NSCN/GPRN categorically rejects the formation of a new faction by the expelled former members Mr Angmai and Mr Langnyei,” stated the NSCN-K(YA) in their statement. They further added, “It is a huge disappointment that these expelled members have chosen to embark on the path of violence and bloodshed despite the best effort and repeated appeal from the public. This group must abandon their selfish ambition and stop deceiving the innocent public or they will be answerable to the Naga people for any eventualities. No amount of accusations and propagandas can substantiate their mistakes. Langnyei desperate claim of walking in the footsteps of our late Chairman SS Khaplang is just empty blabbering and total lies.”
The NSCN-K(YA) also commended the Eastern Naga public, civil society, and student bodies for denouncing the activities of the expelled members and their newly formed faction. It called upon the members to surrender themselves before the public, stating that it is the only viable way forward.
“The NSCN/GPRN deeply appreciates the strong decision taken by the Eastern Naga public, civil societies, and student bodies to denounce this group and their activities. Hence with immediate effect from today, this group are sternly directed to disband and surrender themselves before the public, which is the only viable way forward. The NSCN/GPRN will not coexist with reactionary forces and will be compelled to respond with appropriate action,” stated the press note released by the outfit.
