Dimapur, 20 May (MTNews): The NSCN/GPRN (Nikki) in a press release through its MIP while expressing its concern over the rampant rise of illegal activities including drug trafficking said that it will initiate ‘stern action’ against anyone found involved in anti-social activities.

 

According to the group, the rampant rise of illegal activities including drug trafficking and scams of various forms duping innocent Naga public are destroying the Naga society.

 

“It is observed that all such anti-social elements which are taking toll in Nagaland are being boldly practiced under the nose of the occupational state police force and are also harbored by its personnel and organized groups,” it said.

 

Stating that its authority is “committed and hard bent to curb all such activities,” the group further stated that it will initiate “stern action against anyone found involved in anti-social activities.”

 

It further stated that the group shall not be ‘responsible or answerable’ for occurrences of any unfavorable consequences due to hindrance caused by “any individual, group or occupational state police in the efforts of the NSCN/GPRN to contain anti-social elements.”

 

“Various forms of scams and modus operandi and other illegal activities of vested interest individuals and groups has become a menace to Naga society and such practices have to be stopped,” it stated, adding that it is the responsibility of every citizen and organization to stand against anything that is destroying the society and is against the wishes of the common people.

 

“As desired by the Nagas at large, the NSCN/GPRN came out of the jungle and revived the ceasefire agreement with the Government of India and is further committed to strive in spirit and in deeds to unite the people, for long lasting peace and progress of Naga people, for finding solution to Naga political struggle,” it said.

 

“Since time immemorial Nagas have lived independently and free from any subjugation and the NSCN/GPRN in its utmost sincerity to struggle for achieving the inherent rights of the Naga people stands firm and outright for the wishes and aspirations of the people and therefore shall not allow anti-social and illegal activities which are rapidly destroying the society,” it concluded.
