The president’s office of the NSCN-R (Akato) has announced several key appointments within its ranks in pursuance of smooth and convenient functioning. According to a statement issued by its MIP, Maj. Gen. Howoto Yeptho has been appointed as the Commander In Chief (C-In-C), with Maj. Gen. Mongnei Konyak stepping in as Deputy C-In-C. Other notable appointments include Brig. Jack Chophi as GSO [1], Col. Nikhuvi Chophi as GSO [2], and Col. Abel Yeptho taking on the role of Military Supervisor.
The announcement, which was made official in an order signed by the President and dated June 12, 2024, reminded the new incumbents that “With New Assignments Comes Great Responsibilities”, and have been urged to lead with “dexterity, sincerity and with dedications”.
Further, the order also mandated all officials and members from Political, Central Secretariat and Naga Army Wing to take note of the changes and also to positively co-operate with the newly assigned officials.
