Kohima, 30 November (MTNews): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) and the Department of School Education (DoSE), in partnership with NagaEd, have launched an initiative to ensure a safer learning environment in schools across the state.

This transformative undertaking is aligned with Supreme Court directives and fulfills NSDMA’s objective of cultivating a Safer Generation Next. The initiative involves comprehensive training for teachers in both government and private schools on school safety policies, marking a significant leap forward in enhancing risk resilience in Nagaland’s educational institutions.

A key aspect of this pioneering effort is the shift to a digital course format, a move hailed as a game-changer, enabling the training of an unprecedented 10,000 teachers from both government and private sectors.

“This groundbreaking programme is more than just a training course; it’s a commitment to safeguarding the future of our students, educators, and communities in the event of disaster. As we embark on this journey towards a new era of safety and preparedness in Nagaland’s educational landscape, we are not only enhancing the immediate environment of our schools but also fortifying the community at large against unforeseen disasters,” DIPR reported.
