Kohima, 26 June (MTNews): The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has announced that it will be conducting a mock drill on IT blackout and cyber-attack on June 27, 2023. This exercise aims to assess the preparedness and response capabilities of various stakeholders in the event of a real cyber-attack.

 

The NSDMA will be collaborating with several government departments and organizations for the successful execution of the drill. These include the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, Dimapur, the Department of IT & Communication, the Nagaland Police Telecommunication Organization, Cyber Crime PHQ Kohima, National Informatics Centre (NIC) Nagaland, NIELIT Meriema, Bharat Sanchar Nigham Limited (BSNL) Nagaland, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Vodafone Idea Limited, and SymBios Creations Private Limited.

 

The mock drill will be held from 11:00 AM onwards, with the Secretariat Conference Hall in Kohima serving as the staging area. Several incident sites have been identified for the drill, including the Directorate of IT&C, BSNL Office, and SWAN Data Centre. The Command Control Centre for the exercise will be located at the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), NSDMA & Cyber Crime Branch, PHQ.

 

To ensure comprehensive participation, telecommunication service providers (TSPs) that do not have an office in Kohima will set up makeshift offices at the Directorate of IT & C. This arrangement will facilitate effective coordination and communication during the mock drill.
