Under the theme ”Resilience in Transition,” the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) 31st General Conference commenced at RSA Ground, Tseminyu, hosted by the Rengma Students’ Union (RSU).
Over 1,400 delegates from NSF units and subordinate bodies across Nagaland and beyond are attending the three-day programme, which will conclude with the General Election and declaration of the new office bearers for the 2025–2027 tenure.

The introductory session featured S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha Nagaland, as the Introductory Guest, while former NSF Vice President Atokiho Sumi served as chairperson.
The MP, who is also a former general secretary of the NSF, commended the energy of young leaders in his address. He spoke on how the NSF has produced leaders in political, administrative, and social fields, adding that this legacy should inspire future generations. He urged the NSF family to create a clear vision and pursue it with full commitment, adding that work and responsibilities should be approached as voluntary and fulfilling activities to achieve the best results and satisfaction, while avoiding division or disunity.
He also praised the NSF for initiatives such as the NSF Martyrs Trophy and encouraged more activities to engage and inspire the youth. Impressed by the aspiring NSF candidates, he observed that they were actively focusing on the Naga political solution and expressed confidence in the NSF’s future.
Touching on the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF), the MP stressed the need for shared vision and cooperation. He also posed a friendly challenge to bridge gaps and strengthen unity between NSF and ENSF.
Concluding his address, the Speaker emphasised two points: the importance of reviving the Naga tradition of respecting elders and the need for more friendly competition during NSF elections.
The welcome note was delivered by Benjamin Lorin, Convenor COLA, followed by greetings from Rengma Hoho and the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation. Aspiring candidates also introduced themselves.
A special appearance by Guru Rewben Mashangva added to the significance of the day. NSF General Secretary Chumben Khuvung presented a report on the federation’s activities, followed by the Union Assembly.
