Kohima, 27 July (MTNews): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) expressed that they were “deeply perturbed” to learn about the killing of Obed Kamei on the 20th of July 2023 at Dailong village under Tamenglong district by armed miscreants.
The Federation condemned such cowardly act(s) perpetrated by few anti-social elements which, according to the Federation, threatens the fabric of Naga brotherhood and peaceful co-existence within the Naga family.
“The costly earned peace and stability in the Naga homeland cannot be held hostage because of some few individuals with vested interests and extremist ideologies which are above ‘rule of law’ and have no standing in today’s civilized society,” the federation stated.
The Federation demanded that befitting actions are initiated against the perpetrators and that justice is served to the victim immediately.
Further, NSF appealed for peace and unity across the Naga homeland and be wary of the unprecedented times and situation which is unfolding before the doorsteps.
“We appeal for better sense to prevail, respect for each other’s history and basic human rights, where the Naga homeland and the entire region will thrive in harmony and peaceful co-existence,” it added.
