The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the recent racial and physical harassment of Northeastern women on the Indian mainland, including a shocking incident involving a young doctor from Nagaland at AIIMS Gorakhpur. The doctor was allegedly stalked, subjected to obscene comments and racial slurs, and physically intimidated, highlighting persistent racial prejudice against citizens from the region.
The federation expressed solidarity with the victims and called for stern and exemplary action against the culprits.
NSF demanded that law enforcement authorities in the concerned states ensure immediate arrests, impartial investigations, and strict punishment under the law, warning that leniency would only embolden perpetrators.
NSF also pointed to the recent harassment of three women from Arunachal Pradesh in New Delhi, saying these incidents reveal a “disturbing pattern of racial discrimination.” The organization urged authorities to implement preventive measures, such as better security around universities, hostels, and workplaces where Northeastern students and professionals reside.

“The dignity, safety, and equality of Northeastern citizens are non-negotiable and must be treated as a national priority,” NSF stated. The federation further called on all Northeastern people to remain vigilant, united, and assert their rightful place with dignity and respect.
