Kohima, 1 June (MTNews): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has taken a strong stand in response to the “heinous act of vandalizing the NSF Oking” and the subsequent failure of the authorities to apprehend the culprits involved, even after five days have passed since the incident.

Expressing their deep disappointment and frustration with the lack of action, the NSF has directed all its federating units and subordinate bodies to hoist black flags at their respective Oking. This symbolic act aims to democratically convey their resentment towards the authorities’ inaction, especially considering that the perpetrators have publicly claimed responsibility for the crime.

The NSF further stated that banners providing an explanation for the hoisted flags should also be put up. According to the federation, this exercise shall continue until befitting actions are initiated by the authorities against the culprits involved in the criminal act.

In order to ensure compliance and document the protest, the NSF has requested all federating units and subordinate bodies to submit a compliance report to the NSF office. The report should include pictorial and video recordings of the black flags and banners. The deadline for submitting the compliance report is 5 pm on June 2, 2023 (Friday).
