Kohima, March 22 (MTNews): Naga Students’ Federation observed the 67th Anniversary of Naga National Flag Hoisting Day on 22nd March 2022 at Parashen, Rengma region, the site where the Naga National Flag was first hoisted in 1956 on the same date by Thungdi Chang, C-in-C, Naga Home Guard, NNC. A symbolic program was held to mark the day which was attended by members and representatives of the Sendenyu Logvü Students’ Union (SLSU), Sendenyu Youth Organization (SYO) and New Sendenyu village elders among the NSF officials.

 

Kegwayhun Tep, President of NSF, delivered the Solidarity Message where he reiterated that the Naga Students’ Federation shall continue to honour “this historic day” in days to come while also offering homage to the past leaders for their impeccable contributions and selfless sacrifices to protect and to defend the Naga identity by hoisting the Naga National Flag for the very first time at “this very site.”

 

A brief account on the historic site and date of significance was delivered by the Rengma Selo Zi and the village leaders present. The NSF team also visited New Sendenyu Village Primary School and had an interactive session with the teachers and students on matters of academic concerns.
