In commemoration of the 25th Anniversary Edition of the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, scheduled from September 13 to October 18, 2025, the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) are jointly organizing the landmark event.

As part of the celebration, the NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy Tour across the Naga homeland was flagged off on March 20 from the NSF Martyrs’ Park. The trophy, after a three-day tour to Kohima village, the native place of Late Kekuojalie Sachü, was handed over to the Kigwema Students’ Union on March 23 by the Kohima Village Students’ Union.

Village elders, the village council, and frontal organizations, along with hundreds of students from Kigwema, were present at the commemoration program held at the Kigwema Council Hall.

Various speakers expressed their aspirations for a peaceful and united society, reflecting on the solemn sacrifice of the two martyrs. They also recounted the March 20, 1986, incident, which is now remembered as NSF Martyrs’ Day.

“The trophy will remain at Kigwema village for three days before continuing its 172-day tour across the Naga homeland, honoring the martyrs’ sacrifices and spreading the message of ‘Unity,’” the media cell of the 25th Anniversary Edition NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy said in a press release.
