NSF tells schools to provide ‘physical notes, not soft copies’

The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) said today that some schools are still resorting to providing notes to the students in soft copy format, despite the commencement of normal physical classes, which it said has become a primary reason for the students to take the excuse of spending more time on their mobile phones or other electronic devices.

“This is undesirable for the overall growth of the students. It should be noted that the shift to online mode of dissemination of education was only necessitated by the nationwide-lockdown to combat the spread of the deadly coronavirus,” NSF reminded.

As normal physical classes have resumed, NSF has appealed to the managements and the teaching faculty of the various schools across the Naga homeland to ensure that the physical notes and not the soft-copy format are provided to the students. “This is to mitigate the ill-effects of the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices on the students,” it reasoned.

Further, NSF also observed that the salaries of some sections of the teaching community has not been released for a prolonged period of time. “This, the federation believes, will be detrimental to the teaching-learning process as the teachers will be compelled to find alternatives means of livelihood.

The focus on teaching by these aggrieved teachers will be greatly hampered,” NSF opined, and has asked the authorities concerned to take the right steps forward for releasing the pending salaries of the teachers without further delay. “This is in the interest of the Students and Teaching community,” NSF concluded.
