Enforces strict eligibility norms to safeguard indigenous rights
The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has announced that physical verification of documents for candidates who have qualified through NEET and are seeking admission under the Nagaland State Quota will be held from August 5 to 7, 2025, at the NSF Office in Kohima.
In a press release issued on Monday, the NSF stated that the verification will be conducted under the supervision of its Education Committee to ensure a fair and transparent process. All selected candidates are required to appear in person for the verification, accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Candidates must bring the following original documents: recent passport-sized photograph, NEET Admit Card and Score Card, HSLC and HSSLC Admit Cards, Scheduled Tribe Certificate, and Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate.
The NSF reiterated its firm stance that only candidates who are “Nagas by blood and indigenous to the state of Nagaland” are eligible for admission under the state quota. It condemned attempts by non-indigenous applicants to claim these seats and warned that such practices would not be tolerated.
Candidates who fail to complete the verification process within the specified dates will be deemed ineligible for state quota allotment. The NSF also cautioned that any candidate found submitting false or misleading documents will face appropriate action.
The Federation reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights and interests of indigenous Naga students and ensuring that state quota benefits are not misused.
