Chedema Village Youth Organisation (CVYO) extended their impressive run with a commanding 2–0 victory over Kidima Farmers United on Day 6 of the ongoing NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium, Kohima, on Friday.

The game remained evenly poised for most of the contest, with both teams struggling to find a breakthrough. The deadlock was finally broken in the 82nd minute when CVYO’s talisman Lunminlal (No. 10) struck with precision. Just three minutes later, he doubled the lead, sealing the points with a clinical brace.
At the back, Manglienboi Neihsial (No. 80) delivered a rock-solid defensive display, earning him the Man of the Match award. With this win, CVYO will now face United Brothers Club on October 2 in their bid to progress further in the tournament. The winner of that match will take on Sikkim team Raver Gangtok SC in the pre-quarterfinal round.
In the day’s earlier fixture, Phesama S.U. FC edged Corinthians FC 3–2 in a five-goal thriller to secure their first win of the campaign.
Phesama opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Neisaleto Kipu (No. 8), but Corinthians equalised in the 20th minute via Thejaneilhou Mere. The momentum swung in the second half when Thejangutuo Pfiisenuo put Corinthians ahead in the 54th minute. Their lead, however, was short-lived as an own goal in the 46th minute brought Phesama level.
The decisive blow came in the 67th minute when Theja Chuse (No. 5) fired in the winner, ensuring a dramatic finish and vital points for Phesama SU FC.
