The Nagaland Super League (NSL) Governing Body has issued a press release to address “inaccurate and misinformation” circulating in the media. According to the governing body, the information being shared, including the list of franchises, operational guidelines, and player recruitment details, is “unauthorized and misleading.”

“The NSL Governing Body has not released any official statement or details related to the franchises, eligibility requirements, or operational framework,” the statement clarified.

The governing body emphasized that “only a document for applying clubs and franchises has been issued to those organisations that have registered with an interest to participate in the league.” It added that this document is “an internal document for the registered franchises only.”

The NSL highlighted concerns that the “dissemination of false information undermines the efforts of the NSL to ensure a transparent and professional process for the league’s development.”

In its appeal to media outlets, social media users, and the general public, the governing body stated, “We urge media outlets, social media users and the general public to refrain from sharing unverified information that is false and speculative.”

The governing body reiterated that “all official announcements will be made exclusively by the NSL Governing Body through authorized channels, including press releases, official meetings, or notifications issued by the NSL headquarters.”

Reassuring its commitment, the statement added, “The Governing Body remains committed to ensuring the successful launch of the Nagaland Super League in a professional and transparent manner. We request the cooperation of all stakeholders in maintaining the integrity of this initiative and avoid the spread of misinformation.”
