The Legal Services Stall set up by the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, as part of the 26th Hornbill Festival, concluded on December 10 after successfully providing free legal assistance to more than 1,000 visitors.

According to Neiko Akami, Member Secretary of NSLSA, a total of 1,094 beneficiaries, including local residents and domestic tourists, availed themselves of free legal services during the 10-day festival.

Justice Ashutosh Kumar, Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court and Patron-in-Chief of NSLSA, visited the stall on December 2, accompanied by other Gauhati High Court judges and officials.

Visitors to the stall received legal pamphlets on a variety of topics, including newly enacted laws, available in English, Nagamese, and translated into several local dialects. Those seeking legal assistance or representation were referred to the respective District Legal Services Authorities or the State Legal Services Authority.
