The Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) and the MSME Promotion Council of India (MSME-PCI), Nagaland Chapter, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen rural entrepreneurship and expand livelihood opportunities across the State.

NSRLM, which has mobilized and empowered 1.13 lakh rural women across all 17 districts, said the partnership will support Self-Help Groups and their federations with improved market access, enterprise development, value-chain support, skill training and financial linkages.

The Mission focuses on enabling rural households to build sustainable livelihoods through women-led institutions, collectives and cooperatives.

The MSME Promotion Council of India, Nagaland Chapter, works to support and develop micro, small and medium enterprises by improving access to finance, strengthening business growth, promoting skill enhancement and connecting entrepreneurs with banks, policy-makers and industry stakeholders. The Council places special emphasis on youth and women entrepreneurs to strengthen the MSME ecosystem in the State.

“This collaboration is expected to open new avenues for promoting high-value and dominant products of rural entrepreneurs to the global market,” said Moa Sangtam, Joint Secretary, Rural Development, and Mission Director, NSRLM.

State Chairman of MSME-PCI, Nagaland Chapter, Lanuakum Jamir, said the partnership will help enable business growth and enterprise expansion with better access to local, national and international markets.
