The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB), in collaboration with the NGO ‘Reaching Hand’, organized a park cleanup initiative this weekend. This first-of-its-kind event for NSUB brought together Naga students, working professionals, local governing bodies, and Reaching Hand volunteers to restore and beautify one of Bangalore’s green spaces, Dr. Rajkumar Park.

NSUB president Nungsangmongla Ozukum expressed her pride and satisfaction with the initiative. “This project is very close to our hearts,” she said. “For over five decades, the Naga community has found a second home here in Bangalore. It’s time we give back to the city that has embraced us with open arms. This cleanup drive is our way of showing gratitude and contributing to the well-being of our environment.”

The collaboration with Reaching Hand provided essential logistical support, ensuring the event’s success. Local residents who witnessed the cleanup expressed their appreciation for the efforts towards the restoration of the park.

The NSUB plans to continue its environmental initiatives and expand its partnership. “We hope to expand such collaborations and that this effort will inspire others to take similar actions,” Nungsangmongla added.
