The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) and the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union, Bengaluru (ENSUB) have organized a blood donation drive in collaboration with Bangalore Baptist Hospital on March 21.
The drive witnessed participation from people of different backgrounds who came forward with the shared intention of saving lives. Organisers said it was encouraging to see not only union members but others as well taking part in the initiative.
The organizers noted that Bangalore Baptist Hospital has consistently extended support to the Naga community, including patients who travel from outside Bengaluru for treatment, often providing care and concessions. The drive was organised as a gesture of gratitude and an effort to give back.
They further stated that the event served as a reminder of collective responsibility, with several participants overcoming hesitation to donate blood.
Speaking on the occasion, NSUB president Nungsangmongla Ozukum said, “We are truly grateful to everyone who came forward. This is what community and compassion look like, and a unit of blood donated today may give years of life to another patient.”
ENSUB president Loungtok Konyak said, “This marks an important beginning in building a strong relationship with Bangalore Baptist Hospital. We hope this collaboration will pave the way for better access to quality healthcare for the Naga community in Bengaluru.”
NSUB and ENSUB also expressed gratitude to the hospital, donors and volunteers for their support in making the initiative successful.
