NSUI Dimapur District organizes Teacher’s Day Art and Literary Competition

Dimapur, 5 September (MTNews): The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Dimapur District organized a Teacher’s Day Art and Literary Competition program under the theme ‘A Teacher Awakens Joy and Sparks Interests in the Young Minds’ at Conference Hall, Tourist Lodge, Dimapur on September 4.

 

The program was graced by Capt. GK Zhimomi, Vice President, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) as Guest Speaker. In his speech, he pointed out that a teacher is the inspirational person of the students and encouraged the students to appreciate the sacrifices of the teachers. He said that politics, whether one likes it or not, affects each and every one and further stressed that tribal politics among the students in educational institutions has done more harm than good and urged the students to be wise in choosing the appropriate path as this is the most crucial time of their life.

 

More than 70 students from 13 schools and 17 colleges participated in the essay, speech, poem, art, and singing competition set under two categories: college level and school level.

 

The winners were awarded prize money along with certificates. Participants were also awarded certificates for their participation.

 

Aloboli Kinimi and Tokhuli Yeptho appeared as special guest artists and also the judges for the singing competition while Vinika Swu, Youth Pastor, Valley View Baptist Church, blessed the gathering through her prayer.

 

Welcome address was delivered by Aloka Yeptho, President NSUI Dimapur District while greetings message was delivered by H Apuloto Chophi, Vice President, NSUI Nagaland.

 

Dr Rinky Choudhury, Principal, Salt Christian College and Emilo Yanthan, Asst. Prof, Dept of English, Eastern Christian College were judges for the event. Officials from NSUI Nagaland, Dimapur DCC President, special invitees, students, and teachers attended the program.
