The National Socialist Women’s Organisation of Nagalim (NSWON) has strongly condemned all forms of violence and discrimination against women, highlighting the persistent threats to women’s safety in Naga society.
In a statement released by Chairperson Hosheli Achumi, NSWON noted that despite growing awareness and progress in women’s empowerment, male chauvinism continues to manifest in everyday life, leaving women vulnerable to domestic violence, molestation, and other abuses. The organization pointed out that such attitudes not only harm adult women but also put minors at risk.
“The very society that owes its existence to women often disregards their rights and dignity,” the statement said. NSWON emphasised that acts violating the sanctity of familial relationships, such as those between mothers and sons or sisters and brothers, are unacceptable and must be addressed.
NSWON reiterated its commitment to protecting women’s rights and promoting empowerment in education, the economy, politics, culture, aesthetics, and sports. The organisation also appealed to authorities to diligently perform their duties, ensure prompt investigation of cases, and deliver justice without delay.
The statement concluded with a firm message: NSWON will continue to stand for women’s rights and oppose any actions that undermine their dignity or safety.
