Two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and two hearse vans funded by the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative were inaugurated at District Hospital, Mon. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, and NTPC Bongaigaon Head of Project Arnab Maitra led the inauguration.

Deputy Commissioner Verma expressed gratitude to NTPC for the contribution, emphasizing the long-standing need for hearse vans to ensure dignified transportation of the deceased. Maitra, speaking on behalf of NTPC, said the initiative aimed to support healthcare in the district.

The Konyak Union (KU) President also thanked NTPC for its assistance.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mon, Dr. Supongmengla Walling, acknowledged NTPC’s role in improving healthcare and credited the Deputy Commissioner’s efforts in securing the donation. The event, chaired by Yeangao Konyak, DPM (Q&A), began with an invocation by Chaplain David Konyak. Medical Superintendent Dr. Aman Konyak delivered the welcome address.

The programme concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the official handover of the ambulances and hearse vans to the health department. Officials from the district administration, police, and medical fraternity were present at the event.
