The Nagaland Transparency Public Rights Advocacy & Direct Action Organization (NTPRADAO) has called for the immediate suspension of Enoch S Wotsa, Municipal Council nominee member and NDPP Youth Vice President, until he is proven innocent in the criminal case registered against him, which was later dismissed by the court in Dimapur.
In a statement, NTPRADAO slammed the inaction of DMC Chairman Hukheto Yepthomi and Deputy Chairman Imlinaro Stephanie Ezung, both from NDPP, for failing to inform higher authorities about the suspension issue. The organization said the duo appeared “least bothered by the sensitive nature of the issue,” despite widespread public concern across Nagaland.
The association also condemned LJP (RV) State President Viloto Pukhato for remaining “a silent spectator,” noting that as a political party, it is expected to maintain high standards of public decorum and moral conduct. NTPRADAO recalled that it had previously appealed to LJP (RV) to submit a report to its central leadership in Delhi for necessary action.
Highlighting perceived double standards, NTPRADAO said, “For ordinary citizens, if illegal liquor transportation is caught red-handed, they suffer jail for a couple of months, but in the case of Enoch S. Wotsa, he seems to be presently roaming around scot-free.”
The association further vowed to escalate “an action-oriented strategy” until Wotsa resigns “gracefully and peacefully” to uphold public propriety.
