Nagaland University organized a one-day capacity building program (Training of Trainers) on “Investigation and Reporting, Framing Chargesheets, and Conducting a CTE-Type Intensive Examination” on October 17, 2025, at the Conference Hall, Administrative Complex, Lumami, as part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.
The resource person for the program was Tiamenla Phom, Additional Superintendent of Police, Zunheboto. The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Dr Rumi Dhar, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, while Kahoshe Sumi, Deputy Registrar (GAD), Nagaland University, delivered the introductory remarks.
In his short speech, Prof. Jagadish K Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, urged participants to go beyond the annual observance of Vigilance Week and practice vigilance with transparency in the workplace. He emphasized that while frivolous complaints should not destabilize the system or demoralize the university fraternity, employees must work in a manner that sustains public trust. He also highlighted the importance of strong institutional values.
The training session focused on standard procedures involved in investigation and reporting, framing chargesheets, and conducting CTE-type intensive examinations. Phom used practical examples and case studies to ensure participants gained clarity and proper understanding of the subject.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Er Zajamo Yanthan, System Administrator of Nagaland University. Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, observed from October 27 to November 2, is being led by Prof. Lanusashi Longkumer, Chief Vigilance Officer of Nagaland University, under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
