Nagaland University organised a one-day “Soft Skills Training” workshop on February 12, 2026, for two batches of B.Tech students of the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) at the Kohima Campus, Meriema.
The workshop was organised by the Training and Placement Cell of SET in collaboration with Keren Sumi Finishing School, with the objective of equipping students with essential soft skills and enhancing their future employment prospects.
During the sessions, students were trained in interview etiquette, public speaking, and effective participation in group discussions, among other key communication skills. A total of 48 students participated in the two-session workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Shanchamo Yanthan, In-Charge of the Training and Placement Cell, said that such workshops impart practical skills to students and help improve their communication abilities. He added that participants provided positive feedback following the completion of the programme.
Yanthan also expressed gratitude to Prof. Sujata Dash, Dean of NU-SET, and Prof. N. Venuh, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Kohima Campus, Nagaland University, for providing the opportunity to organise the workshop for the benefit of students.
