Fifteen wrestlers from the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) left for Delhi today to participate in the upcoming Asian Belt Wrestling Alysh Championship. The 15-member squad will represent the Indian contingent during the championship, scheduled to be held in Delhi from May 21 to 26.

According to a press statement issued by NWA Joint Secretary Kuzhovesa Soho, the team, after undergoing a six-day intensive coaching camp at IG Stadium, is set to leave Dimapur at 2:00 AM on May 20 and is expected to reach Delhi by 10:30 AM on May 21.

The NWA officials, along with a referee nominated by United World Wrestling (UWW), will join the team in Delhi on May 21.

A short send-off service was held today at IG Stadium. The program was chaired by NWA Information Secretary Er. Seyielhouvi Nagi, while NWA President Vivolie Kezo and Youth Resources & Sports Joint Director Jakedovo Chase addressed the wrestlers.

Angami Sports Association President Rokovikho Chale also exhorted the athletes, and Rev. Dr. Kevichalie Metha, Pastor of Peraciezie Baptist Church, invoked a blessing prayer for the team.

The NWA expressed its gratitude to CBCK, CWA, ASA, DYRS, and the Kikruma Gospel Team, Kohima, for their financial, moral, and prayer support toward the NWA team.

The association also appealed to all Nagas to uphold the team in their prayers.
