The Ongpangkong Students’ Conference (OKM) has issued a public notice addressing concerns over student discipline within Mokokchung town. The organization reported that some students have been observed “loitering in restaurants, lodges, and other public establishments” during school hours, a behavior they strictly discourage.

”Students are reminded that their primary responsibility is to attend classes regularly,” adding that “any violation of this directive will be taken seriously,” the OKM stated. The organization warned students against spending time outside of school premises without valid reason during school hours.

The OKM also directed a caution to “Managers and Proprietors,” advising them “not to entertain any students in uniform” and announcing that OKM will “conduct surprise inspections and take severe action against any establishments or individuals found engaging in anti-social activities that harm our community’s reputation.”

The statement concluded with an appeal to the community, urging “all educational institutions, parents, and the concerned public to extend cooperation to the initiatives taken by the office.” OKM reaffirmed its commitment to “work for the betterment of the community and students in particular within the Ongpangkong jurisdiction.”

The statement was jointly signed by OKM President Tongpangmangyang Kichu and General Secretary Sungkumjang Kichu.
