CHC empanelment, MGNREGA account transfer, and town infrastructure top the agenda
The monthly Mangkolemba Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) meeting was held at the customary court in Mangkolemba, Mokokchung, chaired by Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education. Vice Chairman Moakumzuk Tzudir, ADC Mangkolemba, presided alongside the District Planning Officer of Mokokchung.

During the meeting, the Chairman expressed optimism about the ongoing enhancement of the Longnak, Tsurangkong, and Jangpetkong road networks, noting the transformative impact of such connectivity projects—especially the Foothill Road Initiative—on regional growth and mobility.
While acknowledging that Mangkolemba remains the oldest subdivision in the state, Temjen Imna Along pointed out the persistent challenges faced by the area. He called on government officers to carry out their duties with sincerity and be accessible to the public. “We must take responsibility, work harder, and deliver for the people,” he said, urging all present to work collectively toward the development of the subdivision.
A wide range of proposals and development issues were discussed during the session, including:
· Promotion of CHC Mangkolemba as an empanelled hospital under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS)
· Transfer of MGNREGA village bank accounts to Mangkolemba subdivision from the Mokokchung headquarters
· Establishment of an urban sub-station for Alongkima and Longnak towns
· Relocation of the government school from Puneboto village to Mithite village
· Construction of a market complex and establishment of a town council office in Mangkolemba town
· Urgent repair and upgrading of roads in the Longchem circle
· Proposal for a border guest house at Akumen village
The house collectively agreed on the relevance and urgency of the proposals and resolved to forward them to the appropriate government departments for further action.
Additionally, the Social Welfare Department, Rural Development Department, and Education Department gave PowerPoint presentations highlighting their recent activities, achievements, and initiatives underway in the subdivision.
