Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) on its 50th anniversary has announced its forthcoming Choral Competition for Church Choirs, to be held on September 21, 2024, at the college’s auditorium. The competition welcomes all church choirs, and there is no registration fee.

The college, established in 1974, said, that through this competition, it hopes to revitalize the relationship with the churches through this event. Additionally, the college hopes the competition will provide a platform for the choirs to come together, celebrate, and experience the benefits of making music together.

“As a pioneering institution in music education since its inception, with the sacrificial contributions of Lt. Mrs. Margaret Shishak and founder and principal emeritus Rev Dr Tuisem A Shishak, the college regards this event as befitting the 50 years celebration, acknowledging the profound impact of its music throughout the country, particularly in the churches,” the college stated.

The competition, organized in collaboration with TaFMA, will offer the following prizes: First Prize: Rs 1, 25,000; Second Prize: Rs 1, 00,000; Third Prize: Rs 75,000; and Best Conductor: Rs. 20,000
