The Department of Mathematics, Fazl Ali College, organized a one-day Inter-School Quiz Tournament on 12 September, 2025, drawing participation from eight schools: Eden Academy, GHS Chuchuyimpang, Jubilee Memorial School, Lady Bird School, Model Higher Secondary School, Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Straightway Higher Secondary School, and Town Higher Secondary School.
Each school was represented by two students from Classes 9 and 10, accompanied by their teacher-in-charge.
The event opened with a brief inaugural programme chaired by Ms. Imlimenla, B.Sc. 5th Semester (Mathematics). Merenlemla Jamir, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, extended a warm welcome to the participants and guests, followed by a special address from the Vice Principal, LS Vinod Kumar. The quiz competition was conducted by the Quiz Master, Watitoshi Ao, Head of the Department of Mathematics, and included rounds that challenged the students’ mathematical knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork.
Queen Mary Higher Secondary School secured the first position, followed by Straightway Higher Secondary School in second place and Lady Bird School in third.
“The tournament not only celebrated academic excellence but also provided a platform for young minds to engage, collaborate, and showcase their talents,” an update received here stated.
