Mokokchung, November 19 (MTNews): The Spartans organized a one-day ‘penalty league tournament’ on Saturday, November 19 at Mokokchung High School ground to encourage players from around Mokokchung under the theme “kicking the right direction” with Tiakaba Kichu, Deputy Manager, State Bank of India, Mokokchung gracing the tournament as Guest of Honor.
In his motivational speech, he advised everyone to participate in sports, discover their purpose in life, and spread happiness to everyone around them.
Further, he added that playing sports is also about having fun, being physically active, learning the fundamentals of sports, building coordination and teamwork, and providing athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills, patience, fervor, and sportsmanship.
In total, 18 teams competed in the tournament, with Spartan FC (A) defeating Spartan FC (B) in the finals, where Sentilong of Spartan FC (A) was awarded best goalkeeper.
Mr. Akumtemsu, the club’s president, also thanked all the sponsors and well-wishers for helping to make the tournament a great success. He also congratulated all of the players and champions on their achievements and urged all of them to have faith in themselves and the courage to face any challenge that comes their way.
