Mokokchung, December 3 (MTNews): Speaking at the Capacity Building and Training on Viral Hepatitis held today at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung, resource person Dr. Kilangwapang Pongener, SMO IMDH Mokokchung stated that, in the world every 30 seconds 1 Patient die of Viral Hepatitis related disease.
He said that the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program was launched with an aim of eliminating Hepatitis by 2030. He also said that the Hepatitis treatment was very expensive ten years ago but with the launching of this program, all tests have been made free and medicines are freely available.
He called upon the trainees to refer patients to the District Hospital for screening if any suspected cases of Hepatitis are found during OPD.
The trainees were trained on symptoms of Hepatitis, how it spreads, its treatment and its prevention.
The Training was attended by CHOs and ANMs of all Health Units.
