Operation Salvage, a rehabilitation center which was started by NSCN(IM) at Haningkunglwa in Peren district, Nagaland, in 2003 celebrated its 19th Foundation Day on June 7, a press note from the MIP, NSCN/GPRN informed. The foundation day was celebrated “to send the message across that it is still going strong to save the lives of many who are lost in the wretched world of drugs & alcohol,” the press note said.

“The occasion was celebrated with the presence of representatives from NMA, NSF, ZBCC, WSBAK and NSCN dignitaries led by Rev Puni, member, Collective Leadership, NSCN. Meaningful testimony was shared from the former inmates who recovered from the rehabilitation center to join the society leaving the past behind. Words of support and encouragement were shared from NMA, NSF, ZBCC and WSBAK,” it further said.

At present Operation Salvage is taking care of around 70 inmates with David Perie as the Administrator.
