Mokokchung, August 25 (MTNews): In the recently announced Outlook Traveler Awards 2022, Nagaland’s Khonoma village received the Silver Award for ‘Best Offbeat Destination in India,’ and Meghalaya’s Mawlynnong received the Silver Award for ‘Best Eco-Tourism Destination in India.’

 

Sikkim received the Gold Award for ‘Best Scenic Drive Destination in India’ (Gangtok to Lake Tsomgo and Nathu-La Pass).

 

Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve in Assam received the Gold Award for ‘Best Wildlife Destination in India.’ Pelling and Kanchenjunga in Sikkim won the Gold Award for ‘Best Mountain/Hill Views Destination in India.’

 

The jury for the ‘Outlook Traveler Awards 2022,’ comprised of noted speakers and jury members from prominent social companies, has honored four northeastern states for their significant commitment to developing sustainable tourism.

 

In addition to these four NE states, the following states and Union Territories (UTs) were recognized during the recently concluded award ceremony: Bodh Gaya in Bihar; Gulmarg in Kashmir; Nilgiris and Coonoor in Tamil Nadu; Bastar in Chhattisgarh; Rishikesh in Uttarakhand; Havelock in Andaman and Nicobar Islands; Mathura in Uttar Pradesh for Holi Festival; Kolkata in West Bengal for Durga Puja Festival; Man (J&K).

 

‘Outlook Traveller Awards 2022’ – the quality benchmark in the travel and tourism industry intends to investigate changes in the travel process that have become the “new normal” and evaluate how stakeholders may profit from such developments.

 

The event has drawn stakeholders from the travel and tourism industry over the years. Tour operators, influencers, writers, designers, artists, travel tech disruptors, socially important persons, hoteliers, international and state tourist boards, diplomats, and government officials are among those included.
