The Directorate of Rural Development, Government of Nagaland, has directed all district Project Directors to urgently complete Aadhaar seeding, authentication and bank account verification of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G), warning that thousands of beneficiaries may otherwise be unable to receive benefits.

In an official communication issued on January 15, Director of Rural Development M Mongna Konyak stated that Phase-I of PMAY-G is in its final stage and that the department aims to complete all pending houses as soon as funds are received from the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).

According to the department, a total of 12,515 beneficiaries are yet to complete their houses under PMAY-G. Of these, only 8,043 beneficiaries have their Aadhaar numbers verified through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), while 4,472 beneficiaries remain unverified.

The department cautioned that it will not be possible to extend financial assistance to the unverified beneficiaries, as SNA-SPARSH is a 100 per cent Aadhaar-based payment system.

In view of this, Project Directors of Kohima, Dimapur, Wokha, Mokokchung, Peren, Zunheboto, Longleng, Kiphire, Mon, Tuensang and Phek districts have been instructed to immediately initiate the Aadhaar seeding and verification process. The directive includes verification of Aadhaar details on the UIDAI portal, confirmation of Aadhaar linkage with bank accounts, and checking whether beneficiary bank accounts are active or dormant.

The department has further asked district officials to coordinate closely with district administrations and banking institutions to resolve discrepancies identified during the verification process.

An Action Taken Report (ATR) on the exercise has been made mandatory and must be submitted to the Directorate of Rural Development by January 31, 2026, the directive stated, stressing strict compliance.

The order was issued by M Mongna Konyak, Director, Rural Development, Nagaland.
