The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) convened at the State Banquet Hall under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, with the participation of Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Advisors, and MLAs.

The Committee unanimously resolved to endorse the Ungma Statement of August 23, 2025, describing it as upholding “the unity, courage, and enduring pursuit of a shared future for the Naga people.” It also expressed support for the call that all Naga Political Groups, with collective backing from the Tribal Hohos, “should converge at a Common Ground to articulate and pursue a shared political vision, founded on the historical and political rights of the Naga people.”

The PAC further resolved that peace talks be resumed at the political level to expedite the negotiation process.

In addition, the Committee reiterated resolutions adopted during the Consultative Meeting held on September 12, 2024, at the State Banquet Hall, which involved Tribal Hohos, civil society representatives, mass-based organizations, church bodies, NGOs, gazetted officers’ unions, student bodies, and political parties.

The House expressed appreciation to the negotiating parties, including the Government of India and the Naga Political Groups, for continuing the Indo-Naga Political dialogue while upholding ceasefire agreements despite challenges over the past two decades.

The Committee also appealed to all sections of Naga society to strengthen unity and understanding to ensure the participation of all stakeholders in the peace process. It emphasized that Naga political groups and national workers should refrain from factionalism, forming breakaway groups, or creating new organizations.
