Kohima, 4 March (MTNews): Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch (IRCSN) organized the induction program of its Chairman and flagging off of the new Ambulance donated by the President IRCSN and Governor of Nagaland, at Dr Imkongliba Ao hall, Raj Bhavan Kohima on 4 March 2024. The President of the IRCSN and Governor of Nagaland officially inducted the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak as the chairman of the IRCSN.

The Governor hoped that his tenure would be marked by compassion, empathy and unwavering dedication to the service of humanity. He apprised the participants that the minister of Health and Family Welfare has to assume the role of the Chairman of the IRCSN because of the symbiotic relationship that exists between health and humanitarian work. As the head of the public health delivery system in the state, the minister and his officials are uniquely positioned to address the multi-faceted challenges facing society today and the challenges that may arise during emergencies, he said.

The President IRCSN further encouraged the Chairman to commit to fostering synergy between health care and humanitarian assistance, ensuring that no one is left behind in their hour of need.

The new Chairman IRCSN and Minister for H&FW, P Paiwang Konyak expressed his gratitude to IRCSN and the Governor of Nagaland for the opportunity and added that it is crucial for an organization like the Red Cross to stay prepared and updated with technology for an effective response to emergencies and disasters. He further called upon the people to commit to fostering collaboration and partnership, both within the organization and with all the external stakeholders, to maximize our impact and reach. He also appreciated everyone involved in the mission of the Indian Red Cross Society for their unwavering commitment to build a brighter future grounded in the values of humanity and love.

The General Secretary IRCSN Akhale V Khamo, presented a brief report of the IRCSN. Special song was performed by Temjentiba Ao.

The program was attended by Advisors, MLAs, DC Kohima, officers from the Directorate of H & FW, IRCSN officials and others.

The program was chaired by IRCSN Member Johnny K Ruangmei. Pastor Rengma Baptist Church Kohima Jonathan Mese invoked blessings during the program while the vote of thanks was pronounced by Vice Chairman IRCSN Sawathang Kez.
