PAPO condemns alleged crime against woman at Kizari Village, calls for arrest

The Phek Area Public Organization (PAPO) has strongly condemned the alleged heinous crime committed by one Hekugha Chophi of Tsutoho Village, a member of the NSCN (IM) faction, against a prayer house keeper at Kizari Village.

In a statement, PAPO said it “vehemently condemn the alleged heinous crime committed by Mr. Hekugha Chophi of Tsutoho Village, a member of NSCN(IM) faction against the innocent lady of Miss Vedukholu, who served as a prayer house keeper at Kizari Village.”

According to the organization, the incident took place on September 24, 2025, when the accused “forcefully tried to rape and torture her physically.” It was further learned from the victim that “this was the third time he attempt to rape and murder her.”

PAPO has appealed to “all right-thinking citizen to condemn and assist in tracing out the culprit,” and has urged the concerned authorities “to arrest him at the earliest and deliver justice to the maximum before the public.”

Stating that “this kind of act is never acceptable in a civilized society,” the organization asserted that the crime “must be treated with outmost seriousness and punish the culprit as per the law of the land in strongest term.”

The statement was signed by Wepelo Mebou, President of PAPO, and Vechizo Khamo, General Secretary.
