The Phek District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PDCCI) has strongly expressed its opposition to the state government’s alleged “stepmotherly treatment” of stakeholders regarding the demand for nominee representation in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).

The PDCCI has condemned the government’s failure to address the issue and has issued a stern warning that if the state government does not meet the demand within the stipulated 14-day deadline, which was extended after a meeting with the Commissioner & Secretary (Urban Development & Municipal Affairs) on April 23, 2025, they will be forced to take further action.

A statement from the PDCCI emphasized that if the government fails to act within the extended time frame, they will exercise their democratic right to initiate an indefinite business shutdown within Phek District.

This was stated in a release issued by PDCCI president Razoukhruyi Dozo.
