The first open badminton tournament exclusively for women under Peren District, organized by the Peren District Administration in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Peren, began at the Indoor Badminton Stadium, Jalukie, on March 21, 2025. The inaugural ceremony of the two-day event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Peren, Hiazu Meru, as the special guest.
After declaring the tournament open, the special guest participated in an exhibition match alongside DPO Peren, I. Tsungrosongla Ao, against ADC Peren, Keyirangding Hegui, and CDPO Jalukie, R. Chirhotshu Nyusou.
The tournament is being held in three categories: singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. A total of 55 women are participating in the event.
