Mokokchung, 24 March (MTNews): The National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) Peren organized the “Observance of World TB Day” under the theme “Yes! We can end TB” at PTWWO Hall, Peren on 24 March 2024, according to an update from the CMO Office, Peren.
Dr Lanuakum Aier, Dy CMO, shared the significance of the day, briefed on the TB data of Peren district, and highlighted schemes like Nikshay Poshan Yojyana and Nikshay Mitras. He also provided insights into early warnings and awareness for early detection, elaborated on signs and symptoms, and encouraged every citizen to raise awareness.
Japheth Woch, NCS, ADC Peren, in his brief speech, thanked the health workers for their services to society. He emphasized the importance of health, promoted a healthy lifestyle, and urged making health a priority. He also expressed gratitude for the advancements in medical science and encouraged the audience to support the elimination of TB.
Sharing was conducted by a TB Champion, and Keyileuchule presented a special song. Mementos were presented to Mukt Panchayat.
Free IEC materials were distributed during the observance. The program was attended by ADC, Administration, Church workers & stakeholders, IEC bureau, and medical fraternity.
Kengimngaule, STS (NTEP), chaired the program; Sekhotolü, TB/HIV Supervisor, delivered the vote of thanks, and Amos Zeliang, Pastor, Liangmai Baptist Pumling, Peren, pronounced the benediction.
