The Stop Diarrhoea Campaign was launched in Peren on June 16 to reduce child deaths through increased use of ORS and Zinc. Officials emphasized hygiene, awareness, and community participation, with demonstrations and IEC materials shared to promote diarrhoea prevention.

Key highlights of the campaign
· ORS-Zinc Corners will be established at health facilities across the district.
· Frontline workers like ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers will distribute ORS and Zinc to households with children under five.
· Awareness drives will be conducted at schools and Anganwadi Centres, focusing on sanitation, nutrition, and clean water.
· Children suffering from diarrhoea will be identified and monitored through field-level health workers.
· The campaign will promote improved case management of dehydration at community and facility levels.

The campaign is being implemented in convergence with allied departments, led by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Peren.

A special appeal was made to all families with young children: “Households with under-five children are entitled to receive a packet of ORS free of cost, and those with children suffering from diarrhoea will also be provided Zinc tablets during this fortnight-long drive,” the CMO’s Office informed.
