Peren district Head Quarter is set to be developed into a model township, with private individuals allotted land to enhance settlement and population in the area. However, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Vineet Kumar, IAS, noted that despite ample time, many allottees have not begun construction on their allotted sites. He also mentioned that several individuals have expressed their willingness and commitment to start building immediately if given allotments.
The issue was discussed during the DPDB meeting in April 2023, where it was decided to cancel allotments for those who had not commenced construction by the deadline of December 30, 2023. This deadline was subsequently extended to March 31, 2024.
During the DPDB meeting on June 14, 2024, the matter was revisited. Following the DPDB resolution, the new deadline for commencing construction activities has been extended to December 31, 2024. Allottees who fail to start construction by this date will face cancellation of their allotments. (With DIPR inputs)
