The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Japhet Woch, has notified an alarming increase in dog bite incidents in Peren Town and has highlighted that the fatality rate of rabies is nearly 100%. To address this, the Peren Town Council, in collaboration with the Veterinary Department, has organized an Anti-Rabies Vaccination drive.
The drive will take place on 21 August 2024 in the Peukwaram, Keletzai, Nsetning, Ndining, and Duiring wards. On 22 August 2024, the vaccination will cover Mdipuiram, Bana, Beilikui, and Nkozai wards.
In preparation for the drive, Additional Deputy Commissioner has directed all dog owners in the town to leash their dogs to facilitate the safe and efficient administration of the vaccine.
