Pfutsero Government College hosted its 43rd Freshers’ Day on August 7 under the theme “Echoes of a New Beginning”, marking a significant moment for newly admitted students as they embarked on their academic journey. The event was held in the college auditorium and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, senior students, and freshers.

Mhalo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Pfutsero, graced the occasion as the Guest Speaker. In her address, she urged students to approach college life with openness and curiosity rather than fear or the pressure to succeed immediately.

“The unknown is not a void. It is a blank canvas… Do not fear the blank spaces. Do not rush to fill them up with certainty. Sit within the unknown. Continue to ask questions and continue to be curious,” she said, encouraging students to make their college experience meaningful and self-defined.

Acknowledging the inevitable challenges along the way, she reminded students that growth is a gradual process.

“Your journey here is not going to be perfect. There will be detours, but a detour doesn’t mean it is the end. They are just going to be a part of your story,” she added.

Earlier, Duti Sarah chaired the session, while Wekou Kapfo spoke on behalf of the freshers, sharing her excitement and hopes for the years ahead. In her address, the Principal of Pfutsero Government College, Dr. Anungla Pongener, assured the freshers of the college’s full support in helping them achieve their aspirations.

As part of the celebration, Menupe-ü Rakho was adjudged Miss Fresher and Dzuwe Tepfo was adjudged Mr. Fresher.
