The Research Committee of Pfutsero Government College, in collaboration with Phek Government College, organised the fifth edition of its One-Day Colloquium Series on October 30, featuring lectures on governance challenges in Northeast India and the toxicity of a plant extract.

Dr. Levinu Sakhrie, assistant professor and head of the Department of Political Science, Phek Government College, spoke on “The Governance Crisis in North East India: Implications for Democracy and Development.”

She highlighted inadequate transparency and accountability, ethnic tensions, corruption and uneven development, calling for greater public participation, dialogue, negotiation and stronger welfare initiatives.

Dr. Nisekhoto Nisa, assistant professor in the Department of Zoology, Phek Government College, presented a study titled “Toxicity Assessment of Parkia timoriana Methanolic Extract in Wistar Albino Rats: An Acute and Sub-Acute Oral Toxicity Study.”

The session was chaired by assistant professor Nekhotsolu Chuzho, while Neizevonuo Suokhrie delivered the concluding remarks. An interactive discussion followed the presentations, promoting academic exchange and collaboration between the two institutions.
