Mokokchung, November 2 (MTNews): The Public Grievances Department of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (PGD, NPCC) has served an ultimatum to the Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland in connection to what it had earlier called a “serious financial mismanagement and irregularities” in the Nirbhaya Fund for Sakhi – One Stop Centers in Nagaland.
Earlier on September 24, the PGD, NPCC had alleged the total amount received from GoI for the construction of One Stop Centers in Nagaland in 11 districts was Rs 11,36,20,880 as per Nagaland Legislative Assembly reply to starred question No.6 on February 16, 2021; whereas, as per the RTI reply of the Directorate of Social Welfare Department, the total project cost was Rs 5,86,81,767 only, showing a difference of Rs 5,49,39,113 from the total sanctioned amount received from (Govt. of India) for the said project.
In this regard, the PGD, NPCC asked why the department concerned “should not make justification of the financial irregularities” and has requested the department to reply within 15 days, further saying that failure to comply “will compel to take up to the appropriate authority.”
The ultimatum was submitted on October 31 by Kedou Wetsah and Imkongmeren Jamir, Co-chairman and member of PGD, NPCC respectively.
